With 8 to 10 million puffins inhabiting the island, Iceland is home to more than 60% of the world's entire Atlantic puffin population. It is definitely something Icelanders are proud of.

Whales breach ( or flipper-slap/tail-breach/etc) to help rid themselves of parasites. Whales, Humpback Whales especially, sometimes carry a variety of external (as well as internal) parasites that may cause itching and irritation to their sensitive skin.

The Icelandic horse holds a special place in the hearts of Icelanders. Their unique gait, resilience to harsh weather conditions, and friendly nature grant them a cherished position in Icelandic culture.
Lock and Dam 14
Illinois
As parts of the Mississippi freezes, the eagles swarm to the lock and dam 14. The fish are trashed downstream at the 3ft drop by the dam. Temporarily stunned in the iceless waters, they are easy picking for the eagles circling above.

You can't always capture images of animals in their natural habitat. But, with patience to can capture a moment. I captured this moment while patiently observing the chimpanzees. I found the one whose face you can see, caring for an elder.
